The main railway station for Rimini stands on Piazzale Cesare Battisti, which is in the northeast of the city centre and close to the seafront. The attractive neo-classical main station building is about 100 years old and houses a useful local tourist office. It's listed as one of Rimini's protected historic buildings. The leafy square in front of the station is busy with bus stops and a busy traffic intersection. Visitors who collect a hire car from Rimini Station are well placed to explore the city centre, a short drive to the south, or travel further afield using the A14 motorway, which is about a mile away from the station.
If you hire a car from Rimini Railway Station you'll be able to tour the main attractions, like the Renaissance Malatestiano Cathedral with its fresco by Piero della Francesca and what's left of Brunelleschi's Castel Sismondo. And of course, the long sandy beach is the main lure for many Rimini visitors, along with plenty of fine seafood restaurants and a famously lively nightlife. Further afield explore the picturesque valley of the River Marecchia and the tiny principality of San Marino; both are a short drive inland. Need a more family-friendly attraction? The acclaimed Aquafan waterpark has all sorts of waterslides and wave pools just off the A14 motorway.
