Yes. When you redeem points for rentals, the points apply to the base rate. You are responsible for any additional costs associated with your reward rental, which may include governmental surcharges, taxes, tax reimbursement, vehicle license fees, airport related fees, Fuel Purchase Option, refuelling, excess mileage charge, insurance and optional items. Please note these additional charges vary based on many factors and may exceed the base price of your rental.
Earn and redeem Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points at participating locations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Spain (mainland only), Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
Prior to September 1, 2024: If a reservation which was booked with rewards points is cancelled within 24 hours of booking, all points will be returned to the member’s account. If a reservation that was booked using points is cancelled more than 24 hours after booking, the following points will be forfeited: If a Gold member, 50% of the points used toward the booking will be forfeited; If a Hertz Five Star® member, 25% of the points used toward the booking will be forfeited; If a Hertz President’s Circle® member, all points will be returned to the member’s account. If the customer does not cancel the reservation prior to the time of pick-up and the rental vehicle is not picked up on the rental date, all the points used toward the rental amount will be forfeited, regardless of the members tier status See our full point cancellation policy here.
Effective September 1, 2024: If a reservation which was booked with rewards points is cancelled any time before scheduled pickup, all points will be returned to the member’s account. If the reservation is not cancelled before this time, all points redeemed on this rental will be forfeited.

To request retroactive credit for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points, log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® account on hertz.co.uk. Then click “My Account,” followed by “Use My Points.” Click the “Missing Points Request” and complete the online form.
To check your point balance online, log in to your account on hertz.co.uk. Your total balance will display next to the “Use My Gold Plus Points” link at the top of the page. For details, click “Rewards Account Activity.”
Some of your rentals may not be eligible to receive Gold Plus Rewards points. Click here to see the list of countries and locations that do not award Gold Plus Rewards points.
Points are valid for five years from the date that they were earned. If a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member does not redeem the points within a five-year period, the points will be considered forfeited and removed. This five-year point expiration does not apply to residents of Canada.
In addition to the expiration policy above, all points in a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member’s account will be forfeited and removed from a member’s account after twelve months of no rental activity. Rental activity means a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards point was either earned or redeemed on a rental. Point transfer to a partner company does not count as rental activity.
Bonus points- Many times points earned in connection with a limited time promotion (“Bonus Points”), will carry an earlier expiration date. This date will always be disclosed in the terms and conditions of the Bonus Points promotion.
Gold Plus Rewards points have no cash value. Points will expire after 12 months of no rental activity. If you cancel or terminate your Gold Plus Rewards membership, Hertz believes any of your rental activity to be fraudulent, or you are prohibited from future rentals with Hertz, Hertz will remove and you will forfeit your Gold Plus Rewards® balance without any alternate compensation.

If you believe you are missing any points, you can request a retroactive credit up to six months from the rental return as long as you were a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® member at the time the rental occurred.

AnyDay Rewards are not subject to blackout periods and may be used during the busiest travel periods. Standard Rewards are available during all but the busiest travel periods and require fewer points to redeem than AnyDay Rewards.

You can transfer or receive Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points to or from any immediate family member who is also a Gold member, at most once per calendar year. Your immediate family member must have had at least one rental activity in the prior 12 months. Activity means a GPR point was either earned or redeemed on a rental. You may be eligible to transfer points more than once per calendar year in the event of death or divorce (official documentation stating such will be required).
Please ensure the transfer is initiated/requested by the owner of the point balance. Requests made by the receiver of the current point balance will be declined. Transfers can only be made between Hertz Gold Plus Rewards accounts, and not for redemption toward an airline/hotel/AmTrak account.

The spouse/domestic partner should sign up for a FREE Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® membership via hertz.co.uk. Once he or she is enrolled in the program, he or she will have to complete one rental. Once rental is complete, you may call the Awards Desk to transfer points.
If both memberships are at least 72 hours old and have had at least one rental activity, transferred points are viewable on hertz.co.uk within 24 hours of transfer. However, a sales specialist will be able to see the transfer of points that same day and can apply the points to a future reservation. The Awards Desk will transfer you to the Sales area to book the reservation.

Information on your account reflects activity through the end of the month prior to when you receive the email. Base points earned from rentals are updated within four days after your last completed rental. For the most current data and for up-to-date information on your account, log in at Hertz.co.uk, and go to My Account.
The points balance on your account summary shows the unexpired number of Gold Plus Rewards points that are currently available on your account for redemption as of the end of the prior month.
For example:
- You need 800 points to redeem for a reward weekend rental day.
- You need 900 points to redeem for a reward weekday rental.
Remember, when you redeem points for rentals, the points apply to the base rate.
