Hertz at Laval Railway Station

Located on the route between Rennes and Le Mans, in the heart of Mayenne, the small town of Laval is a picture perfect Medieval French town. Dominated by its castle and still partially encircled by city walls, the town is home to some stunning medieval houses and churches.

Known for its deep-rooted ties with art, the town is the birthplace of the artist Henri Rousseau, a major Naïve painter. A gallery in the town is dedicated to his works.

There are many things to see and do in the area surrounding Laval. Hiring a car from Laval can really provide the perfect break.

Home to some very intricate rich wall paintings and figurative stone carvings, the Cathedral of the Trinity is a national monument of France and a popular tourist attraction within the town.

If you want to take a hire car out of the city walls, the nearby city of Rennes offers some stunning sights in its historic centre. The Palais du Parliament de Bretagne is particularly impressive, as is the Palais Saint-Georges

For fans of motorsport, a trip eastwards to Le Mans, the home of the word famous 24 hours race, is an absolute must.
