- Sheffield Wellington Street NCP (S1 4HF) is a centrally located car park, close to the Peace Gardens and Sheffield Town Hall.
- Sheffield Station Q-Park (S2 4AA) is open 24/7, with more than 650 spaces. This spot is beside the train station, and close to BBC Radio Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.
- Street parking can be found across the city. Rates and stay limits can vary, so please check signs and meters before you leave your hire car.
Main roads in Sheffield
- The M1 motorway connects London to Leeds and is easily accessed from the north-east of Sheffield. Take this road to reach Leeds to the north, or Nottingham and Leicester to the south.
- The A61 forms a ring road around the city centre and heads north through Sheffield's neighbourhoods to join the M1, or south towards Chesterfield.
- The A57 forks from the A61 ring road, travelling south-east out of the city. Stay on this road to merge onto the M1 at Junction 31 or carry on to reach Worksop and the A1.
How to get from Sheffield to Leeds
Driving from Sheffield to Leeds in your hire car will take just under an hour.
- Leave the city centre on Broad Lane/B6539.
- Turn right onto Gibraltar Street/A61.
- Take a slight left on Savile Street/A6109.
- At the Meadowhall roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the M1 slip road to Leeds.
- Stay on this route for half an hour, then take junction 3.
- Continue on towards central Leeds.
How to get from Sheffield to Peak District National Park
The Peak District is right on Sheffield's doorstep, around eight miles from the city centre. Head south-west out of the city along the A625 to reach Longshaw Estate in less than 30 minutes.
