How to get from Inverness to Aviemore

It takes around 40 minutes (30 miles) to drive from Inverness to Aviemore, in the Cairngorms National Park.

  • Leave the car hire car park on Longman Road and head northwards, taking the third exit at the roundabout.
  • Join the A9 via this roundabout exit.
  • Stay on the A9 until directed towards Aviemore.
  • Take the right turn on to the A95 near Granish.
  • Take the next left to join the B9152 and follow the road into Aviemore.

How to get from Inverness to Aberdeen

Aberdeen is around two hours and 40 minutes from Inverness. Head south on the A9 to leave Inverness, before joining with the A95 eastbound, then the A96, towards Aberdeen.
