Brisbane is the capital, and most populated state in Queensland, Australia. Rent a car in Brisbane and take a walk on the wild side with a trip to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary which is the oldest and largest koala sanctuary in the world. It is home to 120 koalas which you can hold, or why not feed a kangaroo. You can even get up close and personal to other wildlife that is native to Australia.
For a cultural day out then drive the short distance to Queensland Art Gallery in the South of Brisbane. It is here that you will find a collection of Australian and International paintings as well as sculptures. One of the most significant pieces of work on display here is "La Belle Hollandaise" which is by Pablo Picasso. Why not spend a sunny day taking a stroll through the City Botanic Gardens which run next to the Brisbane River. Let the children burn off some energy before you all stop for a picnic in this picturesque setting.
