The weather may be turning, and summer may be behind us, but there are still beautiful views to enjoy. At Hertz, we believe that every great journey starts in a car. So, why don’t you get in the car, leave the city behind, and go on an adventure?

Need some inspiration on where to go? We’ve found four fabulous UK adventures offering incredible views for you to explore this Autumn.

Bourton-on-the-Water, The Cotswolds

If you need to escape from the busy city of Birmingham, then The Cotswolds offers a great escape. The quaint village of Bourton-on-the-Water is regularly voted one of England’s prettiest villages. Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, it offers something for everyone. Whether you’re travelling with kids or you’re looking to unleash your inner child, there’s Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park where you can interact with the animals.

The Bourton Model Railway is a great day out for train enthusiasts young and old. Home to more than 40 British and Continental trains running across three displays, Bourton Model Railway offers you a unique and memorable experience.

Approx. 90 minutes drive from Hertz Birmingham Airport location.

Finnich Glen

Looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the Glasgow city streets? Head north out of the city and there are amazing sights to behold. Enter an enchanting new world at Finnich Glen (also known as The Devil’s Pulpit).

This moss-covered, 100-foot-deep gorge is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but you might also recognise it from its appearance in a number of films and TV shows. It’s the location for Liar’s Spring in Outlander, and featured in the 2019 film Detective Pikachu.

Head a little further north and you’ll find some lovely landscapes and great scenic drives. Find a picnic spot and enjoy lunch in the Scottish countryside. If the weather puts a dampener on your picnic plans, push the seats back and enjoy your lunch in the car.

Approx. 30 minutes drive from Hertz Glasgow Airport location.

Worthing

Take a break by the seaside and visit beautiful Worthing, just an hour from Gatwick. Film enthusiasts can enjoy a visit to one of the oldest working cinemas in the UK, The Dome Cinema.

And while you’re in town, make sure you pay a visit to the pier. Not only do you get spectacular ocean views, there are also treasures to explore on your walk of the 2019 Pier of the Year.

Approx. one hour drive from Hertz Gatwick Airport location.

Stratford-upon-Avon

Looking to leave the streets of Birmingham behind for a while? An hour south of the city you will find Mary Arden’s Farm, once the childhood home of Shakespeare’s mother. Take a step back in time and experience the workings of a Tudor farm on a fun day out, including guides dressed in original Tudor style clothing. You can learn about the daily life on a farm in the 1600s, and try your hand at activities too, like archery.

Travel just a little further south to discover Anne Hathaway’s cottage (that’s William Shakespeare’s wife, not the actress from The Princess Diaries), and a little further on you can find the birthplace of the playwright himself.

Approx. 45 minutes drive from Hertz Birmingham Airport location.
