Hertz at Luton

Locatedto the north-west of London and with a very busy international airport, Luton is a city with excellent road links. You can head into London with ease, or quickly be on your way to the Midlands and all points east and west.

The city itself is home to many businesses, shopping areas and industrial parks, which is why van hire in Luton is so useful. Many companies that do business in London have set up here for various reasons, and you can access both locations with one of our vans. They’re also perfect for moving home, white goods and furniture, and when wanting to transport DIY and large shopping purchases from megastores. Whatever your requirement, we’ve got a selection of vans that are roomy, easy to drive and affordable to run. And if you’re hiring a van to move children to the University of Bedford here, there’s plenty to see and do nearby too.

Driving in and around Luton

When it comes to the south-east of England, Luton is a perfect starting-off point. If your van hire is going to take you out the city itself, the transport network here is ideal. The airport itself is just a 40-minute drive to London along the M1, a route that will take you past Hemel Hempstead and Watford along the way. If you want to skirt London and pass round it rather than go through it, you can use the M25, the London orbital motorway. If you’re going to access central London from Luton, then it’s best to be aware of the congestion charge - we’ve got a helpful video on our London page to walk you through it if you’re unfamiliar.

That same M1 also takes you to the north, past Milton Keynes and Northampton and on to the Midlands and the North. If you wish to reach the west of England, you can leave Luton on the A505 before joining the A418 for Aylesbury. Get onto the A40 just before Oxford and you’ll cut through the Cotswolds to Cheltenham.

Driving through Luton itself is simple and clear and you’ll see some significant landmarks too. Vauxhall Motors have been a presence here since 1905 and the University of Bedfordshire attracts students and scholars from across the country.

There’s plentiful parking at the airport and in the city, including the NCP car park on Regent Street which has nearly 700 spaces. If you’re visiting The Mall, Luton’s largest shopping centre, there are three car parks totalling over 1620 spaces. You’ll find some pedestrianised areas in the centre, as well as bus lanes, but overall, it’s a clear and largely uncongested place to drive.

Van hire in Luton makes doing business or moving large items in the city easy, and our teams will be more than happy to discuss your needs with you.
