Driving in and around Hull

Our van hire branches in Hull will afford you instant access to one of Yorkshire’s busiest cities - its port, city centre, shops and retail parks all within easy reach. It sits on a peninsula to the north of the Humber estuary, with the famed Humber bridge linking it with the south side via the A15.

Roads spray in all directions from Hull, with the A1033 snaking east toward the coast, ending at Withernsea. Take the A165 north-east for the seaside resort of Bridlington – it cuts just inside Flamborough Headland too before continuing on to another popular coastal destination, Scarborough.

Just west of Hull’s centre, the A164 connects with Beverley, but Hull’s main route is the A63. It runs next to the water then leads west, eventually linking with the M62 that leads to Pontefract and Leeds, and then on to Rochdale and Manchester, connecting Yorkshire with Lancashire.

Hull centre is simply navigated using the aforementioned A63, but also with the other main arteries in the centre – Holderness Road, Mount Pleasant. The River Hull a good way to find your bearings as it runs north to south.

For Saint Andrews Quay Retail Park, drive a few minutes west of the city’s heart on the A63. Here you’ll find furniture shops, a branch of B&Q and more – the perfect place to slide a bed, fridge or DIY supplies into your hire van.

Most of Hull’s centre is accessible to vans, with few restrictions or pedestrianised roads. Should you need to park, you’ll find some on-street parking at various times of the day, but also large car parks at George Street, The Deep Aquarium and both St. Stephen’s Square and St. Stephen’s Shopping Centre, among various others.

Reserve your vehicle online now – van hire in Hull is convenient and easy to organise.
