For all Non-European Union renters an International Driving Permit (IDP) is highly recommended.
An IDP translates the national license into various languages and is on its own, without the national license, not acceptable.
UK driver’s license holders travelling to the EU, EEA & Switzerland
After the United Kingdom leaves the European Union, and dependent on the outcome of the UK government’s current negotiations, customers from the UK may need an international driving permit and extra documentation to drive in Europe after 31 October 2019. These guidelines provide further details.
If there is no EU Exit deal, UK driving license holders may need an International Driving Permit (IDP) in addition to their UK driving license to drive to EU and EEA countries after 31 October 2019. The type of permit you will need depends on the country where you intend to drive and whether you have a UK photo card or UK paper driving license. If an IDP is required, it can be obtained from the Post Office for a fee of £5.50.

Driver's licences issued by the People's Republic of China may be accepted provided you present an official Hertz Certification form. Hertz China will issue this form on Hertz notepaper and will incorporate the Hertz China Corporate seal. A scanned copy of the original licence will appear on the Certification form. The Certification form is valid until the expiry date of the Driver's Licence. BOTH the Certification and the original licence MUST be produced at the time of rental.
If you hold a Driver's Licence issued in Japan, a translation certificate in combination with the original national licence will be accepted.
If you hold a Driver's Licence issued in Vietnam, you need to present the original licence together with an authorised translation issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport. If both documents are presented at time of rental these licences are acceptable worldwide.

Extra day is charged after 29 minutes over 24 hour rental period.
A one way rental is a rental which starts at one location and terminates at another. Availability is subject to location restrictions and vehicle type. A fee may apply for this service and will be advised at time of reservation.

Hertz rates do not include fuel.
All Hertz vehicles are rented with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank or a local refuelling charge will apply in addition to the cost of the fuel.
Fuel Purchase Option (FPO).
For convenience, you may purchase a tank of fuel from Hertz at the time of rental at a price that is competitive with local fuel stations; this method eliminates the need for you to refill the tank before returning.
