Key roads in Tenerife

  • The TF-1 is the main motorway in Tenerife, which circles the eastern and southern regions of the island. It allows you to travel across the whole of Tenerife in your hire car.
  • The TF-5 is a motorway that runs from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Puerto de la Cruz and passes through Tacoronte, La Orotava, Puerto de la Cruz and Los Realejos.
  • The TF-25 is one of the highest roads of Spain and links San Cristóbal de La Laguna to TF-21.

How to get from Tenerife Los Rodeos Airport to Arona

It takes 68 minutes to drive the 50 miles from Tenerife Los Rodeos Airport to Arona.

  1. Leave the Hertz car park at Tenerife Los Rodeos Airport and head east onto the TF-5 slip road to La Laguana/Santa Cruz.
  2. Merge onto TF-5, then take exit 7B for TF-2 towards Autopista Sur/Alistos.
  3. Continue onto TF-2, then take the exit onto TF-1.
  4. From there, take exit 69 to merge onto Carretera General. TF-66/TF-66.
  5. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto TF-28 and follow signs for Arona, Santa Cruz.

How to get from Tenerife South Airport to Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is just a 40-minute drive from Tenerife South Airport. Just Get on TF-1 and continue to TF-4 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. From there, take exit 3 and continue on TF-4 to your destination.
