If you visit Middleton Park in Leeds you'll find a vast public green area that includes one of the region's oldest woodlands. The park, to the south of the city of Leeds, includes recreational areas too like a golf course and children's playgrounds. In Middleton Park you'll discover there's a neatly tended area of formal gardens, a lake for fishing, bowling greens and a small café alongside the visitor centre. The Middleton Steam Railway starts in one corner of the park - it's the world's oldest continuously working railway - and at certain times volunteers run trips from here to Hunslet in Leeds.
