If you visit Inverness Museum and Art Gallery you'll find fascinating displays telling the story of the story of the 'Capital of the Highlands'. The Museum is housed in a modern building next to the Castle and inside, interactive and imaginative displays will help you to discover the geology, natural history and archaeology of the region. Then you'll see artefacts to do with the Jacobite rebellion including old Highland weapons and ceremonial artefacts. The Art Gallery section focuses on the best local arts and crafts featuring a constantly changing calendar of artists plus a selection of classic paintings of Highland landscapes.
