The main rail station for the city of Naples stands on Piazza Garibaldi near the centre of the city and the waterfront. It's a major transport hub for southern Italy, linking to the national and international rail network, local trains, buses and the underground metro. It also provides services to Pompeii and Sorrento. There's a tourism office, restaurants and shops here too. With a hire car from Naples Central Railway Station you're able to access much of Naples easily, despite the renowned traffic. The A3 motorway starts at the edge of Piazza Garibaldi and the busy highway along the waterfront is just beyond that.
Hiring a car from Naples Central Railway Station, so close to the centre of Naples, makes it easy to visit the city's main attractions. The National Archaeological Museum sounds rather dry, but is a world-class treasure house of all the art found at Pompeii. Other things to do in Naples include eating a pizza in the city where it was invented, exploring the narrow streets of the historic centre and seeing a performance in the lavishly gilded auditorium of Teatro San Carlo. Day trips from the city include Vesuvius, Pompeii and the island of Capri and, further afield, the pretty Amalfi Coast.

Luca was so helpful in troubleshooting my reservation for an automatic car - which has proven to be hard to come by. My booking was made thru a 3rd party company which was hard to reach to change pickup time. Luca made it work & I was able to conveniently continue my travels in a timely manner. Grazie mille!

The Hertz company was very helpful and friendly. The worst part is finding pick up/drop off locations as there are not many signs in the train station that point you in the right location. The pick-up office is located on the lower level -1 floor. Auto-noleggo which means car rentals. You will see many different companies. Go in office fill paper work. Then you have to walk down to the end of lower level hall. You will see italo staff office, bar delfi , and some more companies. Then turn right you will see a parking garage at the. Before the parking garage there is a glass door in last building. Go inside and go up 2 floors. Hertz cars are to your left. You will see an agent that will assist you. For drop off you must go to same garage. No signs from street but it is the side street that straddles the train station. There is a barrage gare that opens once you push button. Then drive up to 2nd floor and return to same place.

Easy to work with and decent value. Friendly, kind people. Although finding the place to return was hard. I had to park on the street and go inside to ask. The person behind the counter searched for the return lot in my phone and so I had it on my mapping app. I uploaded a screenshot. Map to that parking lot and you should be fine.

(Translated by Google) Hard to find. The office is in the basement of the train station. Cars are stored at the bus station. Upgraded us for free from a small manual to an automatic SUV considering my large size. Excellent professional service. (Original) Difficile à trouver. Le bureau est au sous-sol de la gare de trains. Les voitures sont entreposées au font de la gare d'autobus. Nous ont surclassé gratuitement d'une petite manuelle à une SUV automatique considérant ma grande taille. Excellent service professionnel.

Petrol / Diesel vehicles:
If you do not take our Fuel Purchase Option (FPO) – see Fuel Policy for details - and do not return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel, we will fill the tank for you and charge you for the costs we incur and the service we provide in doing so.
Our costs include purchasing, storing and managing our own fuel supplies, or refilling the tank off site, plus manpower and administration costs. Our service, of course, saves you from taking the time to find a local fuel station and refilling the vehicle yourself.
The refuelling charge for your rental will be calculated as follows:
1.1 x weekly pump price taken from the EU Commission Energy website plus €36.60 (including tax) service charge.
We will show the actual cost of refuelling on your rental agreement when you pick up your vehicle.
Electric vehicles:
Hertz will record the vehicle battery charge at the start of the rental. Failure to return the vehicle in the same state of charge as at pick-up will result in a recharging fee per missing kWh.
