Petrol / Diesel vehicles:
If you do not take our Fuel Purchase Option (FPO) – see Fuel Policy for details - and do not return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel, we will fill the tank for you and charge you for the costs we incur and the service we provide in doing so.
Our costs include purchasing, storing and managing our own fuel supplies, or refilling the tank off site, plus manpower and administration costs. Our service, of course, saves you from taking the time to find a local fuel station and refilling the vehicle yourself.
The refuelling charge for your rental will be calculated as follows:
3 x weekly pump price taken from the EU Commission Energy website.
We will show the actual cost of refuelling on your rental agreement when you pick up your vehicle.
Adblue:
Certain Diesel fuelled vehicles must be operated using AdBlue to reduce harmful emissions. Therefore, you must ensure that there is always a reasonable amount in the AdBlue tank. If we have to fill the AdBlue-tank when the vehicle is returned, we will charge you the costs according to our AdBlue calculation matrix. The matrix is available at every location.
Electric vehicles:
Hertz will record the vehicle battery charge at the start of the rental. Failure to return the vehicle in the same state of charge as at pick-up will result in a recharging fee per missing kWh.
Please see recharging policy
