If you are after a tropical climate, great selection of restaurants and cuisines, glorious beaches, an abundance of shopping malls, retail districts and plenty to see and do, then look no further than Miami.

Miami is located on the Atlantic coast in south-eastern Florida and has something for everyone from the art deco architecture of South Beach to exhilarating wildlife tours. Here are some of our top reasons why we recommend Miami as your next holiday destination.

The Beaches

Miami Beach is located on a barrier reef across Biscayne Bay and is home to the Miami Beach Marina offering Jet Ski and boat rentals. South Beach is a Miami hot spot day or night, home to a mix of art deco architecture, boutiques, galleries, shops, trendy nightlife spots and restaurants.

Water-themed activities

There really is something for everyone in Miami, no matter what your age or interests. Why not take a trip to the Miami Seaquarium where you can swim with dolphins and even become a trainer for the day. For nature lovers and adventure seekers there is the Everglades Airboat Tour and Wildlife Show.

Thousands of places to eat out

With over 6,000 restaurants and cafes Miami caters for every taste including Latin American, Cuban and Caribbean. Miami restaurant month also known as Miami Spice runs from August 1st to September 30th and offers discount dining in selected restaurants.

Scenic driving routes

Whilst there is plenty to see and do in Miami, the best way to explore the city is by car. A trip to Miami wouldn't be complete without an evening drive down the famous Ocean Drive; the art deco architecture comes to life when lit by neon lights.

Head out to Key West along the Overseas Highway and across the famous Seven Mile Bridge to take in spectacular views over the Florida Straits and take advantage of the many vantage points to stop and take a picture. This route is one of the most popular in Miami and does tend to get quite busy during peak times.

The Rickenbacker causeway, another waterside flyover with spectacular views, is Miami's highest point and connects the mainland to Key Biscayne; the views of the Miami skyline are breathtaking. Rickenbacker Causeway Beach is a great resting point for a spot of lunch and stroll along the beach.

Old Cutler Road is one of the most popular routes with the locals, the snakes and curves give even the most experienced drivers a challenge. Attractions located on route include Fairchild Tropical Gardens, Matheson Hammock Park and The Deering Estate.
