Zirchow is a small and very pretty town, close to the nature reserve of Usedom Island. It is 6km away from the coast, 8km away from the Imperial baths at Heringsdorf, and close to many natural features like lagoons and nature reserves. Because there are many attractions a few kilometres out of town, it is wise to use car hire in Zirchow in order to be able to see the beautiful places in and around the town. Hiring a car in Zirchow will also take you to Usedom Island, which has lots of lovely cycle trails. Be aware that the area can be bitterly cold in the winter, although it enjoys a pleasant climate in the summer months.

It was formed during the last Ice Age, and was once covered by a glacier. You will need to rent a car in Zirchow to get around, and the nearest shopping outlet is 7kms away from the town, and it's 9km to the sea. The church of St. James is a late Gothic building which dates back to the 13th century, and has some well preserve medieval wall paintings.
