Heilbronn is a city in the south-west German state of Baden-Württemberg. You might hear people refer to Heilbronn as Käthchenstadt when people talk of the place; a reference to Kleist's famous play, ‘Katie (Katchen) of Heilbronn'. Heilbronn's stand out landmark is the Town Hall which is adorned with a charming 16th century astronomical clock. Heilbronn is a popular tourist spot due to its location in the Neckar Basin. The local geography is best explored by hiring a car from Heilbronn; the Black Forest is a daytrip away and Stuttgart is a short drive south.
