Narrabri is in New South Wales, Australia, and it is the home of the Kamilaroi people, who are a major part of the population. Narrabri is in an area rich with cultural and natural history, but one of the best attractions outside of town is Big Plane, which in in Moree, one hour from Narrabri. Big Plane does exactly what it says on the tin - in 1975 the Australian Government gave the plane, which had been converted from a military to a civilian aircraft, to the Papua New Guinea Defence Force. Big Plane worked solidly until 1992, when she suffered an oil leak, and had to be retired. She was brought back to Australia, and opened as a museum and tourist attraction, as well as being a monument to the importance of foreign aid.
