Travelling in Channel Islands is now made easy with the Hertz car services at theAirport. Initially there were two airways, Jersey airways and Imperial Airways operating at the airport. The runway has been extended several times according to requirements. There was a single terminal at first but in 1997 a new terminal was started to control the surplus traffic. At present there are a number of flights like the Aer Arann to Cork, Aer Lingus to Dublin, and Air Southwest to Bristol and Oxford, Blue Islands to Zurich and Geneva and British airways to London-Gatwick. TheAirportis located 7.4 Km to the north west of Saint Helier in Jersey. The airport was started in 1937 with grass runways and small flights to land on them.
