Key Motorways in and Around Stoke-on-Trent

M6 – the longest motorway in the UK runs from the Midlands to the Scottish border. It can be found on the west side of The Potteries and travels north towards Warrington and, south to Birmingham.
A500 – major road linked to the M6 at junctions 15 and 16. Known as the ‘D road’ due to its shape, it runs north out of Stoke-on-Trent onto Crewe and Nantwich.
A50 – is a major trunk road running between Warrington and Leicester. It provides an east-west link between the M6 and M1.

Main roads in Stoke-on-Trent

A52 – travels through the centre of the city, up to the north east and heading towards Werrington.
A34 – runs from the A33 to the A6 and reaches the southern suburbs of Stoke, before heading to Stafford.
A53 – from Buxton to Shrewsbury, the A53 is a primary route that crosses the Caldon Canal in the northeast of The Potteries.

Staffordshire University

Exciting times are ahead if you’re moving to Stoke-on-Trent to start university. Both campuses, on Leek Road and College Road, are in the north and within walking distance of each other. Access is easy via the M6, A50 and A34.

B&Q Stoke-on-Trent – Meir Park

One of three DIY stores in the city, B&Q at Meir Park is ideally placed if you’re purchasing all your essentials for a big house move. Located on Whittle Road, it’s simple to get here via the M50, which heads into the city centre.

Octagon Retail Park

If you’re picking up furniture from one of the many retailers at Octagon Retail Park, you’ll find the complex located in a prime position, in the centre of The Potteries. The retail park can be found just off the A53/Cobridge Road,

Manchester Airport

This is the closest airport to Stoke-on-Trent and can be reached in around 45 minutes from the city centre. Leave on the A500 and get on the M6. Continue to the M56 and take Exit 5 to arrive.

Festival Retail Park

A top shopping centre boasting major names, where you can pick-up furniture, office equipment and anything else you may need in your hire van. From the train station, drive on Queensway until it becomes the A53 in the north of Stoke-on-Trent.
