Ocean Front Walk along Venice's sandy beach is LA's world-famous, mind-expanding circus of street entertainers and performers. If you visit Venice Beach you'll see Muscle Beach's greased bodybuilders working out alongside a colourful gauntlet of fortune-tellers, buskers, jugglers, comedians and magicians. There's a fine three-mile palm-fringed sandy beach with lifeguards and a fishing pier but area is dominated by the freakish characters on the promenades and boardwalks. You can hire bikes here to join the procession of blades, skateboards, roller skates, unicycles and joggers. Shops sell bizarre souvenirs and health remedies or tattoos and exotic fast food. Expect laughs, not fine quality.
