Like many of his 19th-century Swedish railway buildings, architect Adolf Edelsvärd's design for Örebro Central Station has become a grand city landmark. It opened in 1867 and still stands on East Bangatan, just a block to the north of the city centre. There's parking on both sides of the tracks here and you can walk between the sides via a tunnel or bridge. The Svartån River is just at the western end of the platforms and the city's island castle is just a few hundred yards further on. If you hire a car at Örebro Station it's easy to reach the E20 motorway too: it's less than a mile to the west.
Travellers who hire a car at Örebro Station have the Svartån River in easy distance, being close to the pick-up location. In the same area there are plenty of sights to see during your time in Örebro. From galleries and theatres to great pieces of history through the wooden houses. Look out too for Örebro Slott, a castle in the middle of the river which looks glorious when lit up in the evening and Karlslund Manor, a riverside stately home and gardens. The top of the public water tower is the best place for viewing the city. The Waterpark just outside of the city if a popular attraction and renting a car from Örebro Station will make the trip a lot easier.
