You’ll find the town of Halden on the Swedish border in south eastern Norway, 75 miles south east of the capital Oslo. It stands at the point that the Tista River meets the Iddefjord and close to the most southern road border crossing between the two countries on the Rv22 main road from Halden. If you rent a car in Halden you’ll be able to explore the scenic surrounding area of lakes, rivers, forests and islands that are popular for hiking, fishing and canoeing. Wildlife spotters should head for the areas around the villages of Prestebakke and Kornsjø.
