Saint Savin is in the Vienne region of Poitou-Charentes, situated in the west of France. The town is known primarily for its UNESCO listed church - Abbey Church of Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe – which is Romanesque by design. The narrow, yet tall spire elegantly towers over La Gartempe River and forms the Centre Ville section of town where you’ll find the odd eatery, bar, and restaurant. Saint Savin is a great place from which to explore the Poitou-Charentes region; Chauvigny is nearby and Poitiers is just beyond that. Hiring a car in Saint Savin is available from the town’s industrial estate, La Rochelle and destinations across the region.
