Gueret is a town in the Limousin region of central western France. The town has a nice array of architecture which includes the Church of St. Pierre and St. Paul, and the Hotel de Moneyroux. Attractions like the ‘Labyrinthe Geant des Monts de Gueret' (a giant woodland maze), lie just outside of the confines of the town, so car hire from Gueret is advisable.
Limousin is one of the best regions in France for driving, and neighbouring towns like Limoges and the sombre ghost town in Oradour-sur-Glane have to be explored. Hiring a car from Gueret can be done at our pickup location on Avenue de Bourdonnais.
The Courtille Lake lies to the south of the town, and lovely parks such as the Ferdinand Villard Garden can be found in the town centre. While you're there, why not enjoy Gueret's Museum of Art and Archaeology.
If you're hiring a car from Gueret you'll probably be inclined to make the journey to the parkland and giant maze known as ‘Labyrinthe Geant des Monts de Gueret'; find the maze via the D940 south. For a bit of rustic charm, rent a car from Gueret and head for village of La Souterraine; a short drive west on the N145. Alternatively, take a daytrip south on the D940 to Lake Vassiviere and enjoy the inland beaches.
