Ales is situated in the Gard department of Languedoc-Roussillon. The town is at the foot of the spectacular Cevennes Mountains, and also a short drive from regional landmarks like the Pont Du Gard, making car hire from Ales popular. Ales has a number of prominent landmarks including the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, and the Fort Vauban, whilst also acting as an excellent base from which to tour both Gard and Languedoc-Roussillon. Car hire from Ales is available from our location at 83 Rue Jacquard, allowing tourists to explore the Cevennes National Park, or head south towards Nimes and Avignon.
Ales is often considered the capital of the Cevennes region, and a car hire from Ales allows you direct access to Cevennes National Park and the sublime valleys around the Tarn River. Wander through Ales' landmarks, which include the striking Cathedral of St John the Baptist, or make the short drive to the Parc Botanique de la Tour Vieille. The Mine Temoin is an immersive museum detour for families, and the wonderfully lit Grotte-Cocaliere caves are atmospheric and a wonderful experience for the whole family, just half-an-hour north on the D904). Nimes is 40 minutes south on the N106, and Avignon just over an hour on the D981, (stop-off halfway for the magnificent Pont du Gard).
