Aix en Provence is a city in the south of France, a few miles inland of the Marseille coastline. The city has a thriving tourist industry and is one of the main stops on the TGV rail line from Paris to the south – tourists are welcome to take up car hire from Aix en Provence at our location at the TGV Railway Station, Route Departementale 9.
Aix has a wonderfully ornate town centre with an abundance of fountains, tree-lined boulevards, and of course, the renowned Cours Mirabeau – a match for any of the grand French boulevards. Furthermore, hiring a car from Aix en Provence projects you into the beautiful Provence countryside, the Cote d'Azur, and the Luberon.
Any trip to Aix starts on the tree lined boulevard of Cours Mirabeau; on the Mirabeau, you'll find a host of coffee shops including the famous Deux Garcons. The street acts as a good navigation aid with Aix Old Town at one end, and Villeneuve (new town) at the other. In the Old Town, you'll find Cathedral St. Sauveur, and feel the spirit of the city's artistic heritage, Aix having been popular with some of the great painters and writers.
If you're going to hire a car from Aix en Provence, visit the sublime Montagne Sainte Victoire limestone mountain ridge via the D10 east. Alternatively head west to the enchanting chateau at Les Baux-de-Provence via the A54.
