- The A-30 begins in Albacete and ends in Cartagena. It is the only autopista that connects Murcia to inland Spain
- The N-340 is a major road through Spain starting south of Barcelona. It runs along the coast and ends in Murcia
- The Autovia A-7 is the longest national motorway in Europe and is a free alternative route to the tolled autopista AP-7. Begins in La Jonquera and ends in Algeciras, running through Murcia
How to get from Murcia to Alicante
It around an hour to drive the 50 miles from the Calle Maria Zambrano Hertz pick-up point to Alicante.
- Leave the car rental car park at Calle Pasos de Santiago and get on to the N-340
- Keep right at the fork, follow signs for A-7/Andalucia/A-30/Madrid/E-15/Alicante and merge on to the A-30
- Keep left to continue on the A-7 and continue on to AP-7
- Join the A-70
- Take exit 17AB to merge on to A-31 towards Puerto/Alacant/Alicante
- Use the right two lanes to take the exit towards N-322/Gran Via/Cruceros
- Take Calle Mexico and Av. Aguilera to Av. de la Estacion
How to get from Murcia to Cartagena
Cartagena is just a 40-minute drive from Murcia
- Leave the car rental car park at Calle Pasos de Santiago and get on to the N-340
- Keep right at the fork, follow signs for A-7/Andalucia/A-30/Madrid/E-15/Alicante and merge on to the A-30
- Follow A-30 and take 2nd exit on to RM-F36
- At the roundabout take the 2nd exit on to Calle Carr. De la Palma
