Parking in Fuerteventura

  • Parking Gratuito (35600) is a parking area in the capital, Puerto del Rosario, close to the harbour, many museums and restaurants.
  • Parcheggio (35660) is a public parking spot right next to the harbour in Corralejo.
  • On-street parking is available in most towns on the island, but check the signage for any restrictions. In the capital, Puerto del Rosario, blue lines mean you'll need to buy a ticket.

Key roads in Fuerteventura

  • FV-1, one of the main roads, runs from the capital Puerto del Rosario to Corralejo in the north-east.
  • FV-2, another main route on the island, starts in Puerto del Rosario, and runs south along the east coast to Morro Jableon the southern tip of the island.
  • FV-20 also branches from the capital, looping across the island's centre. Use this road, and the FV-30, to reach the cultural town of Betancuria.

How to get from Puerto del Rosario to Playa del Castillo

It takes 15 minutes to drive the 13km from Puerto del Rosario to the picturesque sands of Playa del Castillo.

  • Leave the city centre and join the FV-2 South.
  • Stay on the FV-2 for around seven miles (12km).
  • After the electric vehicle charging station, join the roundabout and take the third exit on to Avenida del Castillo.
  • Take the first right on to Calle Verol, then left on to Calle Aulaga.
  • At the end of the road, turn left to find Playa del Castillo car park.

How to get from Puerto del Rosario to Corralejo

The National Park resort town of Corralejo is just a 30-minute, 33km drive from Puerto del Rosario. Join the FV-1 north then exit onto Avenida Nuestra Señora del Carmen. For a more scenic route, follow the signs for the FV-1a to follow the picturesque coastline.
