- Parking Calle Real (04001) is open 24/7, close to the Civil War shelters, Casa Dona Pakyta and Palace of the Mediterranean Games. Prices vary but you can reserve from €15 for a day.
- Parking Padre Mendez (04006) is open 24/7. It's near to Museo de Almeria, Museo de la Guitarra Almeria and Mirador de la Rambla de Almeria. Mixture of free and paid parking spots.
- Parking Algae-Tris Plaza Marin (04003) is open 24/7. Cerro San Cristobal, Conjunto Monumental de la Alcazaba de Almeria and Plaza Vieja are all nearby. Spaces cost €1.70 per hour.
Key roads in Almeria
- The A-334 is a regional road connecting Baza in Granada and Huercal-Overa in Almeria.
- The A-92 is a faster motorway allowing for speeds up to 74 mph, and goes from Seville through Estepa, Antequera, Granada and Guadix.
- The A-349 is an important road for Almeria, as it links the city with Almanzora Valley.
How to get from Almeria to Cartagena
It takes just over two hours to drive the 118 miles from Almeria to Cartagena.
- Leave the car rental car park at Almeria Leroy Merlin and head towards the N-340a towards Ctra. de Malaga.
- Take the exit to the AL-12/C. Autovia del Aeropuerto.
- At the roundabout take the third exit on to the N-349.
- Join the E-15/A-7 road to Murcia/Nijar and take exit 534A onto the E-15/AP-7
- Take exit 815, continue to CT-31 and follow the signs for Cartagena centre.
How to get from Almeria to El Ejido
Almeria is half an hour from El Ejido. Get on the E-15/A-7 to Motril/Malaga and follow this until exit 411 for A-1050 towards El Ejido.
