Found in the department of Brittany along the South coast is the historic fishing and industrial port of Lorient. Unlike many French holiday destinations, Lorient isn't filled with historic monuments and links to the past due to rain of allied bombs that levelled the town, however, that hasn't stopped the port becoming a tourist favourite. Hire a car in Lorient if you want an easy means of enjoying the fine foods, excellent shops, and stimulating points of interest. You can find us at 2 Rue de la Belle Fontaine within a six minute walk outside of the centre.
There are many sights to keep you busy if you decide to rent a car in Lorient - you can settle into the drivers seat and journey the short distance to the Musée de la Compagnie des Indes, located only 30 minutes away. Here you can a find an array of East India Company artefacts in a wonderfully engaging exhibition of porcelain, furniture and so much more - it's a real educational treat. You can also return to the town centre to appreciate the Flore Submarine Base and the extraordinary engineering that the Germans carried out in order to keep their U-Boats operational.
