Shannon Airport

Hertz has car hire service to the Shannon Airport and thus makes it a very easy destination to access. It is the third busiest airport of Ireland and had traffic of 3.1 million passengers in 2008. It is located in the new township of Shannon, County Clare and is about 25Km to the north-west of the city of Limerick. International airlines like Aer Lingus, Air France, Continental Airlines and many more operate here and connect to places like Boston, Paris, Newark, New York and others. In 2004, a dual carriageway route was completed on the N19 route. This carriageway bypassed the town of Shannon. Again in 2007, another new interchange and dual carriageway was finished. This new road lies to the north of Ennis and was made on the N18 route. The roads connect the city of Limerick, Galway and Ennis from the airport.
