Joining Hertz Gold Plus Rewards®

Is there a minimum age for participation in Hertz Gold Plus Rewards?

Minimum age to join Hertz Gold Plus Rewards is 23 and customers under the age of 25 are subject to a Young Driver’s Surcharge.


Will I be charged for Gold service after a year?

No. There is no fee for a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership.


What are the benefits of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards?

Redeeming Points

How Do I Redeem My Points for Free Rental Days?

Now there is a faster, easier way to redeem your points for Hertz car rentals. You get to choose the reward that is right for you! To redeem points and reserve a car online, log on to hertz.com and make your reservation. Remember to check the yellow box that reads, "Use my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points". If your itinerary qualifies for a Reward, you'll see your options on the "Review and Book" page. To help you along the way, please view these instructions.


How Do I Redeem My Points for Reward Rental Days?

  1. Log in at hertz.com
  2. At the top navigation bar, click on "My Account," from there select "Use My Points."
  3. Select your destination, followed by the type of reward you are looking to redeem, and hit Submit to start your reservation.


Am I responsible for any charges when I redeem my Gold Plus Rewards® Points for rental days?

Yes. When you redeem points for rentals, the points apply to the base rental price. You are responsible for any additional costs associated with your reward rental which may include governmental surcharges, taxes, tax reimbursement, vehicle license fees, airport related fees, Fuel Purchase Option, refueling, excess mileage charge, insurance and optional items. Please note these additional charges vary based on many factors and may exceed the base price of your rental.


Where can I redeem points?

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points can be redeemed at participating locations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas USVI, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.


Can I Transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points?

Points can be transferred to a spouse or domestic partner, as long as he/she is a Gold member. There is no limit to the number of times points are transferred to a spouse or domestic partner or the amount of points being transferred as long as the points are available in the member’s account. In the United Kingdom, France, Ireland and Spain please call 087084488444; German call 01806 33 35 35; Italy 199116611; Benelux 02 726-4950, and ask for a transfer of points.


Will my points be returned if I cancel my reservation?

If you made a reservation using your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points but need to cancel it, your points will be returned as long as you cancel your reservation 24 hours before you were to pick up your vehicle.


Earning Points

How can I earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points?

You must be a member of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® in order to earn points and only members with an address in the following countries may participate:

Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain (with the exception of Balearic and Canary Islands), Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom

How can I earn points on all my rentals?

To earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points automatically on all your qualified rentals first, you should update your member profile

  1. Log in at hertz.com
  2. At the top navigation bar, click on "My account", and then "My Profile".
  3. Click “Edit” under “Membership Details”. Then check the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® box and click “Update”.

If reserving by phone, please let the Hertz Representative know you would like to start earning Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points.


Where can I earn points?

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points can be earned and redeemed at participating locations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas USVI, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Spain (with the exception of Balearic and Canary Islands), Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.


Can I earn Frequent Flyer credit with my Hertz Rental?

Earning Frequent Flyer credits vary by carrier. If Hertz is a partner in the frequent flyer program of the carrier you are flying, qualified rentals can earn program credits. Please review your program's policies in our partnership section located in the bottom half of the Hertz.com homepage. The Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® program lets you earn points on each qualifying Hertz rental, for business or leisure. You can earn one Gold Plus Rewards® Point for each qualifying dollar spent. And you can use your Awards Points the way you want!


ZE1 code was not mentioned on the reservation. Can I still get my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points for that rental?

Yes, if you request your Gold Plus Rewards® Points within six months after the rental. But you must have been a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member at the time of rental.

To request retro credit for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points you must first log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards account on the Hertz.com home page. Then click on the "My Account” link in the upper right hand corner, followed by “Use My Points”. Click the “Missing Points Request” tab and complete the online form.


How can I get my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points balance?

Log in to our homepage and your Gold Plus Rewards Points® Balance will be displayed to the right of the Use My Gold Plus Points link. For more detail click the "Use My Gold Plus Points" link and on the next page click "eStatements."

To request retro credit for Gold Plus Rewards® points you must log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® account on the Hertz.com home page then click on the "Use My Gold Plus Points" link in the upper right hand corner. Then on the next page click "Missing Points" Request and complete the Missing Points Request online form.


Can I earn bonus/promotional credit for past rentals?

Yes, provided your qualifying rental included the correct Promotion Code and/or CDP number and the rental was in the past six months and qualified for the promotion. For Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® credit you must first log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® account on the Hertz.com home page. Then click on "My Account” link in the upper right hand corner, followed by “Use My Points”. Click the “Missing Points Request” tab and complete the online form. Missing points will be issued for a rental in the past six months.


How will I know if I’ve received my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® bonus points on a recent rental?

To check your Point Balance online, log in to the Hertz.com homepage and click on “My Account” in the top navigation bar. Your total balance will display next to the "Use My Gold Plus Points" link at the top of the page. For more detail click the "Rewards Account Activity" link to view your online statement.


Why didn’t I receive points for my rental?

Some of your rentals may not be eligible to receive Gold Plus Rewards points. Click here to see the list of countries and locations that do not award Gold Plus Rewards points.


Expiring Points

Do my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points expire?

Points do not expire as long as the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® member has either earned or redeemed points through rental activity in the prior 18 months.


Points Balance and Qualifications

How can I get my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points balance?

To check your Point Balance online, log in to the Hertz.com homepage and click on ìMy Accountî in the top navigation bar. Your total balance will display next to the "Use My Gold Plus Points" link at the top of the page. For more detail click the "Rewards Account Activity " link.


What if I’m missing Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points?

If you believe you are missing any points, you can request a retro credit up to six months from the rental return. You must log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® account on the Hertz.com home page and click on “My Account” in the top navigation bar, followed by “Use My Points”. Click on the “Use My Points” link and on the next page click “Missing Points Request” and complete the online form.


I did not earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points on one of my qualified rentals. What can I do?

AnyDay Reward vs. Standard Reward

What is the difference between AnyDay Rewards and Standard Rewards?

AnyDay Rewards are not subject to any blackout periods and may be used during the most busy travel periods, which usually occur around certain holidays, major local events, and the very highest seasonal demand periods at specific locations. Standard Rewards are available during all but the most busy travel periods and require less points to redeem than AnyDay Rewards.

To see the list of dates and cities that require AnyDay Rewards redemptions, please log into hertz.com and click on “My Account” in the top navigation bar, followed by “Use My Points”. If you click on the “Use My Points” link you will see a tab for “Terms and Conditions”. The “Terms and Conditions” page list the AnyDay Rewards periods by country. Select the country to view the list of cities and dates that require the use of an AnyDay Reward.

Transferring Points

Can I Transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points?

What if my spouse or domestic partner is not a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® member?

The spouse/domestic partner should sign up for a fee-waived Gold membership via hertz.com. Once completed, you must wait 48 hours before calling the Awards Desk to transfer points. Transferring of points cannot be done without waiting the 48 hours.


Can My Spouse or Domestic Partner Join Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® for Free?

Yes, your spouse/domestic partner should sign up for a fee-waived Gold membership hertz.com. Once completed, you must wait 48 hours before calling the Awards Desk to transfer points. Transferring of points cannot be done without waiting the 48 hours.


When will the points show up in the spouse/domestic partner’s account?

If both memberships are at least 72 hours old, the transferred points are viewable on Hertz.com within 24 hours of transfer. However, a Sales Specialist is able to see the transfer of points that same day and will be able to apply the points to a future reservation. The Awards Desk will transfer you to the Sales area to book the reservation.


Account Information

How can I view my Account Statements?

Account statements are available online:

  1. Log in at hertz.com
  2. At the top navigation, select “My Account”, followed by “Rewards Account Activity”
  3. Here you will find your Gold Plus Rewards® points activity for the current month, plus the previous 24 months of points activity or from your original join date.


What is the Time Frame for Calculating Account Information on my Account Summary?

Information on your account reflects activity through the end of the month prior to when you receive the e-mail. Base points earned from rentals are updated within four days after your last completed rental. For the most current data and for up-to-date information on your account, log in at hertz.com, and go to “My Account”.


What is my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points Balance on my Account Summary?

The points balance on your account summary shows the unexpired number of Gold Plus Rewards points that are currently available on your account for redemption as of the end of the prior month.

For example:

- You need 800 points to redeem for a reward weekend rental day.
- You need 900 points to redeem for a reward weekday rental.

Remember, when you redeem points for rentals, the points apply to the base rental price. You are responsible for any additional costs associated with your reward rental which may include governmental surcharges, taxes, tax reimbursement, vehicle license fees, airport related fees, Fuel Purchase Option, refuelling, excess mileage charge, insurance and optional items. Please note these additional charges vary based on many factors and may exceed the base price of your rental.


If there is a discrepancy in the rewards total, what can I do?

If you checked your Points status online, please remember that total Points are accurate as of four days after your last completed rental. If you believe you are missing any points, you can request a retro credit up to six months from the rental return. You must log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® account on the Hertz.com home page and click on “My Account” in the top navigation bar, followed by “Use My Points”. Click on the “Use My Points” link and on the next page click “Missing Points Request” and complete the online form.


Five Star®

To earn Hertz Five Star status, one of the following must be met within the specified 12-month period

  • 12-19 rentals
  • $2,400 to $3,999 in spending


What are the benefits of Five Star® status?

  • One-car-class upgrades at participating locations to a full-size class vehicle (subject to availability)
  • 25% bonus on Gold Plus Rewards Points on all qualified rentals

How do I earn President's Circle status?

To earn Hertz President's Circle status, one of the following must be met within the specified 12-month period
