Petrol / Diesel vehicles:
If you do not take our Fuel Purchase Option (FPO) – see Fuel Policy for details - and do not return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel, we will fill the tank for you and charge you for the costs we incur and the service we provide in doing so.
Our costs include purchasing, storing and managing our own fuel supplies, or refilling the tank off site, plus manpower and administration costs. Our service, of course, saves you from taking the time to find a local fuel station and refilling the vehicle yourself.
The refuelling charge for your rental will be calculated as follows:
3 x weekly pump price taken from the EU Commission Energy website.
We will show the actual cost of refuelling on your rental agreement when you pick up your vehicle.
Electric vehicles:
Hertz will record the vehicle battery charge at the start of the rental. Failure to return the vehicle in the same state of charge as at pick-up will result in a recharging fee for the missing kWh. The per kWh fee changes from time to time with energy price adjustments but the current per kWh fee amount is available at the pick-up location.
