Key motorways in and around Aberdeen

• M90 – branches off the M9 at Kirkliston near Edinburgh and runs northbound towards Perth. It follows the Queensferry Crossing which passes over the Firth of Forth rivers towards Rosyth. At its most northern point in Perth, it joins back up to the A90 which branches either east or west.
• M9 – begins west of Edinburgh and runs for just 33 miles. It travels in a northwest direction and ends near Dunblane where it becomes the A9. It passes Falkirk and Stirling and is a key road for getting to Edinburgh Airport.
• M8 – is a major road in Scotland running west to east. It passes through lots of towns in Scotland including Paisley, Glasgow Airport, Glasgow city centre, Livingston, Edinburgh Airport, and Edinburgh. It starts west of Glasgow at Langbank, ending in the outskirts of Edinburgh in the southwest.

Main roads in Aberdeen

• A90 – connects Aberdeen to the northern coast in Fraserburgh in the north, passing through Peterhead. It also runs southbound from Aberdeen towards Dundee, Brechin, Perth, and Edinburgh in the south.
• A96 – is a major road in the north of Scotland, starting in Aberdeen in the north of the city centre. It runs for 164km travelling northwest towards Inverness where it joins the A9. It connects Aberdeen to Inverurie, Elgin and Nairn along the way.
• A93 – is an incredibly scenic route that notably runs through the Cairngorms National Park. It connects Aberdeen to Perth (although this is not the most direct route) and passes through Bridgend. It runs into the centre of Aberdeen on Guld Street near the bus and train station.

B&Q Garden Centre

Pick up your home or garden supplies at B&Q and get them where you need them in a hire van at our B&Q Aberdeen pick-up location. B&Q is located by the River Dee on Garthdee Road and can be accessed from the A92 and the A9013.

Costco Aberdeen

To get to Union Street in Aberdeen’s city centre, leave the Hertz van hire car park at COSTCO and head east on the A944. Bear left at the roundabout to join Skene Road and continue onto the B9119. At Queen’s Cross roundabout, take the fourth exit onto Albyn Place and arrive at Union Street.

University of Aberdeen Campus

Join the A956 on Trinity Quay and take the third exit at the roundabout onto Park Street. Continue onto Park Road bear left onto Golf Road, and then turn left onto School Road. Take the second exit at the roundabout onto St Machar Drive and turn left onto Elphinstone Road. Turn left onto Menston Walk and then turn left again onto High Street to arrive at King’s College.

IKEA Aberdeen

To get to IKEA, join the A956 from the city centre and take the fourth exit onto Wellington Circle to come off the A956. Enter the IKEA car park and head to the IKEA order and collection point to pick up your supplies.

Aberdeen Airport

To get to the centre of Aberdeen from the airport join the A96 and take the third exit at the roundabout onto the A92. At King’s Cross take the King’s Gate exit, and at Queen’s Cross take the Albyn Place exit (A9478). Follow this road until you arrive on Union Street.
