Arnold Arboretum is situated in the Jamaica Plain area of Boston and is under the jurisdiction of the nearby University of Harvard. Originally built in 1872, the park covers over 280 acres of land and is regarded as one of the finest collections of plants and herbaria, as well as homing an extensive library of horticultural books. Visitors can explore specific areas of the Arboretum - such as Weld Hill, Forest Hill Remnant and Dana Greenhouse – to take in and learn more about the 15,000 varying species of plants on display. To keep the young ones entertained, enrol on one of the nature learning tours with a resident expert from the University's botanical team.
