San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf district has become a centre for many tourist visits to the city. This is where you'll find this popular nautical museum, dedicated to the maritime history of America's Pacific Coast. If you visit the Maritime Historical Park you'll find a wide collection of exhibits and artefacts, ranging from a whaling harpoon gun to a shipwrecked boat. Best of all, however, is the collection of eight real historic boats that you can clamber aboard. Look out for popular favourites like the 19th-century square rig sailing boat Balclutha and the 1914 steam powered tug boat Hercules.
