Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA)
First opening its doors in 1883, the IMA is one of the oldest museums of its kind in the United States and hosts collections from all over the world by some of the most highly regarded names in art, including Hopper, Matisse and Rembrandt. As if that wasn't enough, there is also an idyllic 26-acre garden on the grounds of the museum. Indianapolis City Market
Located in the Market East District, this restored nineteenth century market fuses the traditional with the contemporary to provide an eclectic mix of goods. If its food you're after then the Indianapolis City Market is the perfect place to treat your taste buds, offering an array of different cuisines that are sure to keep everyone happy. We definitely recommend heading down to the Original Farmers' Market held there every Wednesday - here you'll find some of the freshest, tastiest produce the Midwest has to offer.
Canal and White River State Park
Of the seven Cultural Districts Indianapolis has, Canal and White River State Park is perhaps the most picturesque. Whether you're looking to keep fit on holiday or simply take in the tranquil surroundings, the three-mile canal loop is the perfect circuit. The Children's Museum of Indianapolis
Indianapolis is home to the world's largest museum for children. The Indiana State Capitol
Built in 1878 by architect Edwin May, The Indiana State Capitol is a beautiful renaissance style, government building in downtown Indianapolis. Although a grand and impressive building from the outside alone, we recommend you take a guided tour to truly appreciate the architecture and history of The State Capitol - in particular the spectacular stained glass dome.
