You can get to St Mary’s Island by means of a short causeway and once there the rugged landscape offers plenty of points of interest. The Lighthouse is the focal point of the island, having been constructed back in 1898, and it now serves as the visitor centre. As with other attractions on the island, it is open throughout the year and it should certainly be your first port of call. However, you will also want to experience the Nature Reserve, to which wetland habitats have recently been added, and can be explored entirely free of charge. St Mary’s Island is an unspoiled wonder for you to discover.
