If you visit the Royal Armouries in Leeds you'll find exhibits from one of the planet's largest and most important collections of arms and armour. It's free to enter the six different galleries plus an outside arena where live demonstrations take place, including world-famous jousting contests. It's all about war, hunting and military history. In the Leeds Royal Armouries expect to come face-to-face with fully armed and armoured figures dating from ancient times up to the modern era. Among the highlights you'll see are a bronze Corinthian helmet from the 6th century BC, an armoured man and horse from the Middle Ages and a 19th-century Gatling Gun.
