Founded in 1817 on Sauchiehall Street, today the Glasgow Botanic Gardens continue to attract all manner of curious minds eager to learn more about the variety of plant life that grows at its current home in the popular West End. When the weather is fine there's no better setting for a relaxing stroll through some beautiful scenery, and to enjoy a snack in the tearoom. The Heritage Trail is a particular highlight, with nearly 30 different points of interest winding down towards the arboretum. Spread over more than 40 acres of prime greenery you'll find an amazing collection of plants and flowers, and even more interesting exhibits within the glass houses including some stunning orchids in houses two and three.
