Scotland's national collection of fine art is housed at the National Gallery, found on the Mound in Edinburgh. Here you'll find works of art from between the Renaissance and the late 19th century created not only by masters of the form from around the world but also a comprehensive collection of Scotland's best pieces in their own dedicated space. Alongside the likes of Van Gogh, Monet and Degas you can see Raeburn's famous 'Skating Minister' and a self-portrait of George Jamesone. Scotland's National Gallery is an absolute highlight of Edinburgh - itself a world centre of culture during festival season.
