No other place in the world spreads glitz and glamour quite like Nevada's largest city does. Las Vegas is the casino and entertainment capital world, so it's no surprise that Sin City is one of the country's top tourist destinations.

Aside from the breathtaking stunt, circus and magic shows, Vegas is regarded a hotspot for music fanatics - it's so good, the King himself Elvis wrote a song about the place.

Whatever genre of music you listen to, the Bright Lights City attracts the biggest names in the industry, all playing in whole hosts of clubs, arenas and casinos.

For all those who want to explore Las Vegas' music scene, we've put together a list of five of the desert city's most fabulous entertainment venues.

The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel

The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel is without a doubt one of the most iconic music venues in Vegas. Musical giants such as The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Neil Young, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers have given some of their most famous performances here. Situated on Paradise Road, you'll be sure to see some of the hottest and biggest musicians of our generation on the Joint's stage.

Beat Coffeehouse & Records

Located on East Fremont Street, Beat Coffeehouse & Records is a small gem in downtown Las Vegas. The venue offers an interesting mix of coffeehouse, bar, and vinyl record shop and you'll also find local bands performing here. It's the perfect place if you enjoy a down-to-earth, alternative vibe.

House of Blues

Music lovers should not pass up the chance to visit the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay - whenever Carlos Santana is in town, he'll play here. The House of Blues doesn't just offer outstanding blues performances though as metal, punk, and hip hop bands regularly perform here as well. The venue will make you feel like you've just stepped into one of the old-school blues venues of New Orleans and you can enjoy some of the world's leading musicians whilst indulging in some amazing soul food.

The Cosmopolitan

Musicians like Adele, The Strokes, The Smashing Pumpkins and Queens of the Stone Age have already performed at The Cosmopolitan, a relatively new venue on the Las Vegas Strip. There are several music spaces at the venue and two of the most spectacular ones are the Boulevard Pool and the Book & Stage. The former offers music fans a breath-taking view of the Las Vegas skyline, while the latter has adopted a more laid-back lounge atmosphere.

The Colosseum at Caesars

Modelled on the impressive amphitheatre in Rome, the Colosseum in Las Vegas is the prime entertainment venue of the world-famous Caesars Palace. The Colosseum has been home to Celine Dion's long-running show and artists such as Elton John, Cher, Bette Midler, Rod Stewart, and Shania Twain are known to have performed extraordinary shows here.

Las Vegas is a true paradise for music and entertainment lovers alike. The city is home to some of the country's most impressive live performance venues and it offers something for every taste. Attending a show or concert in Vegas is an experience you shouldn't miss out on if you're visiting the city.
