Belfast's Botanic Gardens offers visitors a slice of peace and tranquillity within the vibrant hustle and bustle of the city centre. Established by the Belfast Botanic and Horticulture Society back in 1828, the gardens were first home to a variety of exotic plants, and the Gardens have gone from strength to strength ever since. The Palm House stands as the site's main attraction, as the impressive glass dome dates back to the mid-19th century and has a fine array of tropical plants for visitors to enjoy. As well as the Palm House, the Botanic Garden has a children's playground, scenic walks and plenty of green space, making it the ideal place for you to enjoy a sunny afternoon.
