Along with Aston Martin, Jaguars are probably the most iconic range of British sports cars ever produced – and they continue to turn heads wherever they go.
The company was founded in 1922 by Sir William Lyons (then under the name of SS Cars) and stated his intention to produce cars that combined “performance and beauty like no other”. Today the company still lives up to its original principles by making a range of stunning cars at its headquarters in Coventry in the UK, which for many decades was the heart of the country’s motor industry.
Much of the company’s reputation for performance came from success on the race track with no less than five Le Mans 24 hour race victories for the marque.
Without doubt the most famous car Jaguar ever produced was the E-type which typified the swinging sixties in the UK and combined thrilling looks with breath-taking performance.
The agile, sleek and powerful lines of the E-type are still very much there to see in today’s generation of F-type Jaguars which, not surprisingly, provide even more stunning performance with the highest levels of technological advancement.
