Hertz at Locarno

The Swiss city of Locarno is on the north of Lake Maggiore, close to Ascona at the base of the Alps. One of the most notable events that takes place in this part of the country each year is the Locarno International Film Festival. If you are visiting in August then the Piazza Grande is the place to enjoy some new and interesting cinema.

The city also has a total of nine Swiss heritage sites which are of national significance. Car hire in Locarno allows you to head to one of the most interesting sights in Locarno, the Astrovia Locarno, which is a 1:1 scale model of the solar system.

Rent a car in Locarno and take a trip to the Castello Visconteo, located in the centre of Locarno's old city. Only around a fifth of the castle remains, and these ruins date back to between the 13th and 15th century. The castle is now home to the Museum of Archaeology which features a collection of glass pieces that date back to the Roman period.

If you prefer a more active holiday then head to Alpe di Neggia to try your hand at skiing the course is ranked Easy so anyone who's still learning will get the benefit of the beautiful scenery and fast-paced practice.
