Hertz at Halmstad

The Central Station serves the city of Halmstad in southwest Sweden. It stands of the east bank of the River Nissan that flows through the city, just a few hundred yards from the city centre. The grand old station building stands on a small square facing the Station Road and Station Gardens opposite. If you arrange to pick up a hire car from Halmstad Station, you'll find there's a good road network from the station so it's easy to drive to the centre or reach other districts. There are great beaches to the north and south, and inland, the pretty wooded valley of the Nissan.

Halmstad stands on the Swedish west coast at the mouth of the River Nissan. Visitors who hire a car in Halmstad can explore this port city that stands midway between Gothenburg and Malmo. The trunk roads E6 and E20 pass through the city, giving good road access to the rest of Halland. Halmstad itself is a busy university city with its own tourist attractions. The highlights include the romantic Halmstad Slott (castle) and Tylösand, a five-mile-long sandy beach rated one of Sweden's best. Elsewhere, the old Saint Nikolai Church is surrounded by old wooden houses, and the Storgatan – or high street - is the lively centre of the city's shopping district.
