Hertz at Boras Railway Station

The grand brick Romanesque railway station at Borås was built in the 19th century. This Central Station faces the cobbled ‘Central Plan' public square and is a landmark in the city in southwestern Sweden. This grand provincial train station symbolises the fact that Borås was very much a 19th-century railway city. Two important lines meet here and the station stands right in the heart of the city. Travelers who pick up a hire car here are well placed to explore Boras and to visit other areas of the region too, thanks to the station's proximity to a good network of national trunk roads.

Visitors with a hire car can see the different parts of Borås. There's a thriving industrial sector, particularly in textiles and mail order. H&M has its headquarters here and Borås is the home of the atomic clock that sets the national time. And it's known for its shopping, culture and its zoo. Borås Djurpark has more than 500 animals in a leafy 100-acre site in the north of the city, including giraffes and elephants. Further afield, Boras is a good centre for touring a picturesque region of farms and lakes, from the waterfront cottages at Sandared to the river rapids and prehistoric remains around Fristad.
