Algeciras is one of the most important, not to mention largest ports in Europe, this is due to its location on the Eastern edge of the bay across from Gibraltar. But Algeciras is so much more than just a stopping spot for ferrys, with whole host of things to see and do within the city itself, it is a tourists paradise. The oldest part of the city is the San Isidro district, known for its steep and winding narrow streets, leading to hidden shops and roof top bars. The Plaza Alta, located in the heart of Algeciras, provides the perfect spot for people watching whilst indulging in a spot of lunch. As well as the stunning city scenes, Algeciras has some wonderful streches of beach. To ensure visitors get the most from thier trip car hire in Algeciras is recommended, and can be found at Avda Virgen del Carmen.
